I had to do a blog post about "Summer Shorts" for Men. A girlfriend of mine was out shopping with her husband the other day and he was buying a pair of yellow shorts! Awesome, I know! He was wondering what would go with them. The answer is lots of things!!!
First off, yellow is my favorite color so I'm always super excited to match things with yellow. You can pair a print with these, a t-shirt, a polo, a button-up and in many different colors. The outfit I put together shows some different options. Some colors off the top of my head are gray, navy blue, shades of purple. Have fun mixing and matching.

Season For White Pants
I'm obsessed with white pants. They are clean, summery and have a beachy feel to them. You can rock a pair of white pants even when not on the beach.
The trick to getting the right type of white pants is to get the right material and fit for you. You don't want these so skin tight that they hug every inch of you. You also don't want too thin of material so they are basically see through. So, try on some different cuts whether it be harem, trouser, crop, etc... Try them all! What do you have to lose? Besides looking fabulous! (wink, wink).
The outfit I put together; see "nautical", shows a white pant with a bright blue sleeveless blouse. Very beachy, I might add. I tried to keep it light on the accessories because honestly you don't need much. I paired this with a cute straw bag (so in this season), a cute bangle, some simple gold earrings and "call it spring" wedges.

Do You Want to Party Rock?
I thought so!
Some of my girlfriends have introduced me to "party rockin' pants" (as we like to call them). AKA Harem Pants. BTW, we also have a party rockin' dance (just a fun fact).
I am in love with these, so I wanted to blog about them and show you how cute they are! I'm not sure I would have ever purchased these unless I saw how cute they could be on my friends! Harem pants are basically pants that are loose fitting from the knee up and then fitted from the knee down. It is known to be a cross between the skinny jean and a skirt. How cool is that?
The pants come in all different colors and prints so you have a wide variety to choose from. In the "Harem Outfit" I posted I showed a jumpsuit with harem pants as well as an already put together outfit so you can see some whole ensembles put together. The outfit I put together has a print harem pant so you can see how easy it is to put together an outfit even with a print.
Another option I love is pairing them with a bustier and suspenders. I'm so excited and can't wait to go shopping!

Color of The Season
According to E News! (which is one of my guilty pleasures), Mint is the Color of the Season! And why not create an outfit to showcase that mint color?
I picked a mint dress because I love a great dress. I picked a high-low dress in this light material because last year at the Kentucky Derby a girl work a pink dress similar in style and I just loved it. I paired this with a pair of chunky heels and belt. I also added a bright print clutch and matching jewelry to give it a pop.

Just Call Me... Fire Warden!
Fun Fact: I am the Fire Warden at my job. I have to attend two training sessions a year so I know what to do in case of an emergency. I have to be the calm one and lead my co-workers to safety if there is a fire in the building. One of the many "perks" of being the Fire Warden is having to wear an orange vest when evacuating. :)
Last September was the first time our office had to evacuate during the practice run. They do a practice run once a year. My first training session of the year will be next week. And yes, in September I had to wear the orange vest which is fine but, I can't help but think how much cuter it could be. First it's mesh and completely baggy, which isn't flattering for anyone outside of the NBA. Therefore, I decided to create a completely cute Fire Warden Outfit. I'm proposing a bright orange blazer. Check out how cute the "Fire Warden Chic" outfit is!!!

The Roaring 20's
The Great Gatsby movie for 2013 has recently been released and has inspired this blog post. Every commercial I see or conversation I hear relates to the fashion in this story in one way or another. The 1920's was a great decade for fashion, as many people can attest too. How many times do people wear a Flapper costume for Halloween? I see it all the time and that's because they are fabulous!
I love everything about the fashion in this decade. The dresses, the shoes, the hair pieces and even those 1920's inspired handbags are just amazing.
When I think about the 20's, pleats come to my mind. So, I picked two dresses that feature pleats. Each dress shows a fabulous hair piece as well to go with. The shoes are modern but you can always wear a pair of vintage heels with one of these dresses. The accessories I showed are lots of jewelery and a vintage handbag.
The whole idea is to have fun with it!! I also can't wait to see the movie!
